I know the $395 registration seems expensive. But when you look at the prizes and giveaways I don't think it is all that bad. If you were just getting a bag lunch and a t-shirt that would be a different story. This run is giving away $1500 for first place and prizes will be given to the top ten winners. Granted for some that is what it costs in gas to make the run.

The website will be updated soon with the rest of the giveaways for the people in the run. They are going to have the Mercury Racing Poker Run Road Show, Shogren is bring Nor-tech and Sunsation boats, sky divers, Polynesian dancers, Greg Waters band, Bazooka Joe band, Shipyard will bring a load of Donzi boats up, the JBS race crew will be manning the check point boats, Jeff and Joey will be signing autographs, the giftbags will have embroidered polos, laser printed fleece blankets, oversized beach towels, sweat proof drinking glasses, picnic kit, and more. My understanding is there are going to be some high end prizes in this poker run and we all know putting on an event like this is not cheap. It costs a lot of money and time to get events like this put together and to draw people in from diffrent states. I think it is great that we have people willing to stick their neck out to get in some of the biggest and nicest boats in the nation to come to Wisconsin. Think of it like Nascar on the water. It is a chance for me to go to a local spot and see boats that I would normally never get to see. It is a chance for a local boater to do a shoot out against World Champions and have bragging rights that you ran with some of the biggest dogs on the water. You probably will be suckin' some major wake, but you still had the chance to do it. I understand that my boat is not the right machine for this event and I am okay with it. I will still be happy as a pig in mud just to be able to see these boats and have the opportunity to hang out while all this action is going on. So if you are like me and the cost is a little too rich for your blood, don't miss out on the chance to go and see some of the coolest boats around, hang out listen to the band they have and sip a few cocktails and enjoy the show.
I do agree we need more poker runs and events for boaters. That is why I am glad to see the new poker run (Poker on the Fox).
Hopefully we will see more of these events as well.
