Overview:

Poker on the Fox is the newest, coolest and most exciting poker run to ripple the waters.

Poker on the Fox is a full weekend celebration of boating, music, boat show and just fun with the highlight event being the Poker on the Fox Poker Run.

The activities were designed for participation and enjoyment by boating enthusiast as well as land lovers.

This event is Poker on the Fox Foundation's flagship event and primary fundraiser.  Poker on the Fox’s goal is to raise awareness and funds for our great Fox Valley waterways, while improving it, including well needed buoys.

Pre-registration is $40.00 per hand and registration the day of the event is $50.00.

The Event

A two day Poker Run on Friday July 30The and Saturday the 31st to include a Friday concert kick off at the Leach, two day boat show and most importantly the poker run all day Saturday.  With a Sunday parade of boats to hand out at Stretches.

Includes:

    * Friday evening concert with Naughty Monkey and Copper Box
    * Boat Show Friday afternoon and Saturday, located in the parking lot adjacent to the Leach by the river
    * Poker Run Saturday
    * Several Raffles
    * Many Prizes and Give Aways
    * Fun activities at all locations to acquire cards

                          - Boat Show at adjacent parking lot

                          - Poker Run with many locations from Fremont thru Lake Winnebago ending at the Park Plaza Ball Room

The Cause

Poker on the Fox is an annual event dedicated to supporting our local communities by providing financial assistance to help maintain the waterways and recreational activities in the Fox Valley and surrounding areas.

Not to be a wet blanket, but isn't that the same weekend as EAA?  Is it safe to have a poker run the same weekend that a lot of boats are going to be on the water for the air show?  

It's going to be pretty congested in the river with air show traffic  and a poler run at the same time.

It is the same weekend as EAA. We are spreading out the poker run to Fremont and back to Winnebago hopefully this will help keep the congestion down. With lots of boats already in town hopefully we get a lot of participation.

You can, but it's several blocks to the edge of the airport... and most people are at the other end of the airport which is many blocks long (10+?). There are 2 public landings near. Plan on lunch at Ardy & Ed's which is right across the street from the southmost landing.

I was actually BS'n with the buddy of mine who goes to it every year. He was talking about some area where they have a shuttle bus that takes them to the water where they have water airplanes take off and land - wasn't sure if I could dock up to that...

I believe the seaplane base is the bay just east of Streiches.  You'll probably get shot up by the county sheriff if you get too close to the bay  , but maybe your buddy could get a seaplane to drive him out to Streiches beach.

Yeah, he's a pretty nutty guy - can usually talk anyone into anything - ha. Now a picture of me docked up to a plane would be pretty damn cool...  gonna have to work on that.
