Rainbow park dock, was docked on the other side of the Oshkosh Ave bridge before it snowed and it looked like they had a "tender" tied up as well. Lights on at night, they must be living in it.

Anyone know the story? Or who is going to go ask :)

Last I knew, the city was trying to get him removed, but he was fighting it.  I knew they were going to give him a few days, but I hear he is still there.  Haven't heard anything since.

We should find out what his problem is and make it our Christmas goal to help him as a group. Who else is in?

I stopped by this morning and checked it out.  Took a couple of photos with my cell - although I don't have the software at work to transfer off of my phone.  I'll get that done tonight after hockey practice.

So there is someone living on it...at least part time?

When I was in college I remember there being a house boat in Eau Claire that was at one of the parks on the Chippewa river for the entire summer.  They tried to get them to leave, but they were not moored to any public land or docks so they were allowed to stay.

Does anyone have the full scoop on the houseboat?  I'm curious now.

WOW, that's purdy!   ::)

It fits right in with the rest of the urban blight along the river.

I drove through the park shortly after I asked for volunteers, he has propane heat, a gas generator (lights are on every night) and a Jeep... guitar hanging from the wall. Definitely living on it full-time, but I think he's good to go. I'll stop with someone though... very curious :)

We were talking about this at work and were wondering if maybe he got a divorce and the ole lady took him to the cleaners so this is all that he's got?  Or it's possible that with the economy the way that it's at he might of lost his job and b/c of that his home so he's making due the best he can.  The guy could just be down on his luck.  I don't know, just a few thoughts.

Or he nutted up and just said "F it."  I'm living on a boat full time, I don't care if it is WI.  All of us have thought of it...this guy went all in.

Does the river stay open there all year round?
