Wanted – Used Wave Runner

We are looking to buy a used personal water craft and trailer.

The unit must be a 3 passenger model with reverse. Preferred brand is Sea Doo. We previously owned a Sea Doo GTS and this is about what we are looking to buy.  Also, I am looking at Sea Doo GTI models.

Our preference is something that is about 7-10 years old, 2 stroke, and smaller engine. 

Plans are to use this with the kids. We don’t want it to be beat to heck but also we don’t want it to be ‘like new / premium priced’ either.

We are not looking for a high performance, high priced, not a scratch on it model.

Price range is between 1 1/2 and 3 grand depending on the specific model, condition, etc.

Hey Doug, I have a 1998 Polaris 3 up SLTH 700 (with reverse) with a decent trailer for sale.. Actually it's my dads that he encountered in the sale of his condo in Winneconne.. It's at the marina right now if your interested looking at it... He also has a jet-ski lift he wants to get rid...  I have the whole package for-sale on Craigslist for like $2100.....

I’m a bit concerned with Polaris. They stopped making waverunners.

I’ve been following the saga of what Corey has been going thru with his boat repairs.

The Sea Doo’s are just so darn common so parts and service are easier.

Do you have a price for just the waverunner and trailer?

I would consider if it’s a aggressive price but I don’t want to offend a fellow board member with a low offer.

I think (not 100% sure) that by lift he means a shore station boat lift. A device you can use to hold the boat above the water if you have water front property.

This alone may be expensive and its possible Brad would separate the two but I don’t know.

Ya, I wanted to make sure of the price and more importantly the accessories for said price. 

At $2100 we can split the cost with our In Laws, put the lift in at their place on the lake so they / we / the family can use it and then I can still throw it on the trailer and take it up north or out on the water (if Kerri doesn't want to do a full boating day with Evie etc,)  I can just go and meet up with everyone and keep it simple (and fuel efficient.)

sorry if I didn't explain it very well... The lift is a vertical lift which attatches to a dock-post and then swings out horizontal also...  the problem I'm having right now and it sucks is that It's not even registered yet in my name, It still has the previous owners name on DNR card but they signed off on it.. I went down to the DNR office and have the sheets to send in to Madison but it probably will take a few months or so to get the stickers... SOOOO with that said anyone is more than welcome to look at it, and if there ways around my situation please feel free to let me know..... Doug, also keep the Yamaha Waverunner in mind.  A friend of mine had one and it was a great machine.  My experience and my friend's experience with second hand Sea Doo's were both not good!  I bought a 5 year old one that looked fantastic, ran great during the test rides but the ownership experience went down hill rapidly!  Interesting that the current Sea Doo ads on TV say, "built to last a decade".  Now, that's truth in advertising.  Just my $.02 worth!

Hey Brad, that’s great news!  

Yesterday must have been a great day for personal watercraft sales because we also purchased a 1996 Sea Doo GTS w/yacht club trailer. It was exactly what we were looking for. 

After waiting and waiting for the DNR card last year with our present boat I’m not going to do that again. Today or tomorrow my wife will go to the DNR office in Oshkosh and get the boat registered.
